Cost:           $8.00 per Scout or Scout Leader ($10.00 after January 21*)

                   $8.00 per Webelos or Webelos Leader (non-overnight)

                   $8.00 per Arrow of Light Scout or leader (non-overnight)

                   * Late fee applies per person

Check-in

All units must check in upon arrival.   All units shall submit a roster of all participants and note the location where in camp that they have set up their camp. 

Parking

All unit vehicles must be parked in the parking lot as directed by event staff.  Motor vehicles will have no access to the camping area.   Overflow cars will be directed to a nearby off-site lot.

For each vehicle, units will be given a form on which will show their unit number on and are asked to put this form on the dashboard of each vehicle.  This will aid event staff in contacting the driver should the car need to be moved or any other problem arises.

Camping Sites

Camping sites will not be assigned; units are welcome to set up anywhere in the designated camping areas except for a few designated program sites. 

Leader Meeting and Crackerbarrel

There will be a mandatory meeting for Scoutmasters and SPLs beginning at 9:00 PM on Friday at Camporee Headquarters (Mill Pond Building).  Any unit not in camp overnight must send representatives to this meeting.

Health Forms

Health forms are the responsibility of each individual unit.

Campfires

Units should bring their own firewood.  Ground fires will not be permitted.  Unused wood and burnt wood must be removed from the property.

Trash

Units must take all trash out of camp with them.

Saturday Night Campfire

It is planned to have a traditional campfire on Saturday evening.  All units are asked to perform a skit or lead a song.  Troop 26 from West Newbury will be host troop and units are to submit their plans for the campfire to the Troop 26 representative.

Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts

Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts may attend on Saturday, but not overnight.  Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts must be in attendance with a Scout troop and will follow a patrol.  Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts will be allowed to participate in games as time allows.

Program

Patrols will move from town to town in “Alaska” and “Canada” to take part in activities for which they will earn materials for shipping.  These materials will be unloaded at HQ for scoring at the end of the program.

All patrols must have a sledge similar to a dog sled – No small sleds or toboggans.

Patrols will need to have the following equipment on their sledge during the competition:

Patrol flag       Eight 6’ lengths of rope          Notebook and writing utensils

Bow saw         Hand axe                                 Matches           First aid kit                             

Not having any of these materials will result in a reduction in score.

Creative Road Kill Cooking Competition

Units are welcome to enter the cooking competition by submitting a dish based on the theme, “Creative Road Kill.”  This dish must have meat as the main ingredient. Dishes must be brought to the headquarters no later 6:30 PM.  A page with the troop number and patrol name, the name of the dish, and a list of ingredients must be submitted with the dish.

Units are asked to inform the event chairman of their intent to submit an entry to this competition.

Note:  This is a separate competition from the Ice Road Sledders.

Saturday, January 30

6:00 AM          Quiet time ends

9:00 AM          Opening Ceremony (Mill Pond Building by pond)

9:15 AM          Ice Road Sledding begins

11:30 AM        Lunch break

1:00 PM          Ice Road Sledding resumes

3:00 PM          Ice Road Sledding ends

3:30 PM          Grand Sled Race

4:30 PM          Dinner time

6:45 PM         Creative Road Kill Cooking Competition entry deadline

7:30 PM          Campfire & closing (Mill Pond Building by pond)

11:00 PM        Quiet time begins

Sunday, January 31

6:00 AM          Quiet time ends
