New for 2018!

The newest offering for the NeXus is this year’s Shooting Sports week.  To be hosted at TL Storer this summer, this course has been designed to create a unique and rewarding skills and leadership camp.

The Four Goals of the Shooting Sports Week are: 1) Leadership Development, 2) Skill Proficiency, 3) Instructor Training, and 4) Time Management. Scouts will develop and cultivate these goals throughout the course of the week. Using the patrol method, Scouts learn the skills necessary to be better troop leaders and shooting sports resources.

A Scout who graduates from Shooting Sports Camp demonstrates to his community, troop, family, as well as himself that he or she can be trusted and relied upon to help and lead others.

Scouts have the opportunity to earn Rifle MB, Shotgun MB and Archery MB.  Venturers can work towards their Ranger Elective and Venturing Shooting Sports Outstanding Achievement Award.  Sea Scouts will work toward their Sea Scout Marksman Medal.  All Scouts will have the opportunity to experience shooting sports like they have never before- throwing tomahawks, shooting black powder, action archery and much more

Who should attend?

Scouts who are at least 13 years of age. These scouts will leave Shooting Sports week ready to be the leaders of their home Troops/Crews/Ships.

Space is limited to the first 42 Scouts who register for the program.  So sign up today!
